Where do we go from here?
As early champions and instigators of the effort to revitalize and redevelop downtown Cary, The Heart of Cary Association (HoCA) serves in a key role to ensure that downtown Cary’s many local businesses, residents, and nonprofit organizations continue to have a prominent place in the future. HoCA is governed by a nine-member volunteer board of directors.
Heart of Cary History
The Heart of Cary Association was founded by several community leaders in 1977 as a nonprofit organization after operating as a group as the Downtown Development Committee in the Cary Chamber of Commerce. These signatures of these distinguished Cary citizens can be found as endorsements from a Town Council meeting dated September 26, 1996 that designated the official downtown area. William Curtis Westbrook, Sr. signed the Articles of Incorporation for the Heart of Cary Association on March 27, 1997 and they were received by the NC Secretary of State office on April 8, 1997.
Heart of Cary Mission: To preserve and enhance the fundamental character and charm of Cary while assuring its growth as a vibrant, prospering community of residents and businesses.
SAVE THE DATES for our HoCA Member meetings: August 3, September 7 – Cary Candidate Forum, October 5 – Honor Cary First Responders, November 2, and December evening meeting combined with WUD.
