Dr. Loflin will join us to speak about her innovative Global City that focuses on what makes people love their city and why it matters to local economic health and individual well-being.
Dr. Loflin will also talk about her role as the creator of the original production of the story of Cary to be performed in celebration of Cary’s 150th anniversary.

Dr. Loflin, also known as “The City Doctor”, has been an award-winning, internationally-recognized trailblazer on the science of cities and has been widely featured through the press, her book “Place Match”, her former radio show, TEDx talks, and her groundbreaking city initiatives around the world.
Dr. Loflin also co-founded and is principal of Amazing Place Productions, an innovative production company that tells the stories of places through original stage productions and community events. Her latest production is telling the story of Cary on stage in 2021 in celebration of Cary’s 150th anniversary. She is also the Director of Special Initiatives for the Brian Hamilton Foundation where she advises foundation strategy and is an executive producer for Hamilton’s upcoming television show airing on ABC channels this spring that will be filmed in and around the Cary area.
Dr. Loflin has been awarded the international Place Marketing Award and has given keynotes for organizations that include Gallup, the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific Mayors Forum, the National Association of Realtors, and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. She has been invited to serve on global councils in Australia, Sweden, France, Canada, Qatar, and the US.
