Please join your Heart of Cary Association as we honor our First Responders on October 6, Thursday, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at The Matthews House, 317 W. Chatham Street, Cary, NC.
Thank you, to all of our first responders for serving and keeping our communities safe. We are especially grateful for those who serve locally and for those who call Cary home! You and your family‘s sacrifice does not go unnoticed.
National First Responders Day is October 28 and recognizes the heroic men and women who make it their business to take immediate action when disaster strikes. Congress made October 28 National First Responders Day in 2017 and the resolution passed through the senate in 2019. At the time, there were about “4.6 million career and volunteer firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians, and paramedic workers serving communities all across the United States,” according to the Department of Homeland Security. Even before the creation of National First Responders Day, Americans knew how valuable and necessary they were.
