November Membership Meeting

Our Heart of Cary Association meeting presenters, Sheila Ogle and Liza Weidle, will share holiday marketing and advertising tips with a focus on ways to brand yourself as well as your business to brings results to both. This breakfast meeting includes a table networking session to help craft your mission message.

When: November 3 (Thursday) from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

Where: The Matthews House, 317 W Chatham St, Cary, NC

Cost: This meeting includes a free breakfast for Heart of Cary Association Members and first time guests who register by clicking here.

 

About Sheila Ogle: Sheila spent much of her career creating and running her own businesses, including an advertising firm, a conference center, and a small-business incubator, as well as supporting causes she cares about. She helped start the Cary Women’s Giving Network and the Cary Community Foundation, where she and her late husband created the Carroll and Sheila Ogle Family Fund, a donor advised fund that supports the arts and historic preservation in downtown Cary.

“It’s all part of giving back to the community that’s been so good to us,” she says.

In 1994, Ogle was inducted into the N.C. Advertising Hall of Fame at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the UNC-Chapel Hill, becoming the first woman to receive that honor. And in 1998, she was named North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Sheila was honored with the Cary Hometown Spirit Award, Anthemion Award for historic preservation for restoring the Cary Pink House, and has been the recipient of Cary Magazine’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award. Sheila was inducted into The North Carolina National Association of Women Business Owner’s Hall of Fame in 2018.

About Liza Weidle: Liza is the FRS Communications CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer) and has more than two decades of experience encouraging and working with nonprofits, business leaders and the community to achieve goals and make an impact. Part of Liza’s experiences are also drawn from working with NBC-17, the News and Observer, and Curtis Media; a perfect blend of broadcast TV, print media, and radio.

Liza stays on top of the hottest social media and content trends. She is known as an influencer who builds relationships with thought leaders, maintains an active blog, and interacts across social media to leverage initiatives that make the world a better place.
