Unconscious Bias and Leadership

Join us as we explore the fascinating topic of unconscious bias, where it comes from, what you can do about it as a leaders and business owners.
In our hyper-connected world and as we shift to work differently due to COVID-19, it is more important than ever to understand how our minds work, the short cuts it takes to protect us, and how that may affect us. In some cases, are operating in cognitive overload which can lead to compromised decision making. Further, with recent events leading to an increased awareness of racial injustice, it is important to understand how our unconscious biases may lead to unintended inequitable behaviors or statements.
The reality is we all have biases, it does not make us bad, it makes us human. In fact, we need bias to survive. The more we understand about how our brains are wired, the more aware we can be of how we are showing up as leaders and the impact we have.
We plan to create a safe environment to openly discuss this topic without judgement, blame or shame. The goals of this session are to increase awareness, confront our own biases to better serve our organizations, teams, and customers, and to leave with at least one insight or action you can take to mitigate bias. In this inspiring and interactive session, we will simulate many of the same activities, we would in a typical classroom setting.
Check out this 4-minute video as an introduction and join the conversation on August 27th.
